My reflection on the Course
Educational technology was undeniably one of the most beneficial courses in semester three and in the MA program in general. At first I was wondering how this course is going to take place and what are the learning outcomes that we will come out with this course, of course all of these questions had to end at some point, and this happened when we reached the end of the course and we had to submit our final E-portfolios, that had to include all of our work and assignments through the course. At that point we came to realize the learning outcomes of the course which will be stated bellow.
The most crucial characteristics this course are the fact that we can learn in an effective and easy way without having interaction with the teacher. This was new to us, as the professor used E-learning; specifically blended E-learning along with his teaching strategies so as to engage us more in the course and it had worked. Most of got the chance to discover new learning and teaching tools that are to be considered in the classroom for both learners and teachers. The course was absolutely a treasure to discover as it gave us the opportunity to share content and use authoring tools and integrate technology effectively in our teaching strategies.
As a teacher, who had just joined a private school, I can say that I had learned the most. Despite the fact that I had a very busy schedule that didn’t help me attend all the courses and do all of the assignments in time. Yet, I had the pleasure to learn precious techniques and ideas that I added to my teaching methods which had nurtured my teaching skills in specific and my creative side in general.
One of the essential aspects of this course is the outstanding MOOC course experience that I took a month ago. It was so advantageous in the sense that I had discovered another side of my personality which my love to create movies and videos and this passion for video making can easily be transmitted into a teaching tool in which I can teach my students in a fun creative way.
Another way in which the course was exciting is when we had to take the proficiency test. I was keen to take that kind of tests because I had never taken one. My experience was very successful and I had learned very much from the experience as it will help me in the future to be ready for TOEFL and ILETS and other tests.
The most important skill that this course had gifted us with is the ability to create our own site web. This had enabled us to share our work with everyone and proudly publish it to the public in the form of an E- portfolio, to be read and receive feed-back in order improve our performance. The experience was amazing, except of one thing that I had faced at the end. There was an error that caused me to stay behind, while creating the E-portfolio. The platform didn’t allow me to add more than 10 pages and I had a lot of content to add but I couldn’t do anything about so I had to do all the work and started from scratch; so I created another account and another site web and started adding content which costed a lot of time and drained my energy. At last I finished most of the work even though it wasn’t perfect as I wanted to be. Yet, I was glad to take the course and learn from it to the maximum.
Finally, we can say that our skills and knowledge in the field of technology and teaching have undoubtedly been polished through this semester, which is the best way to end the MA courses.
