Language Proficiency Tests
The purpose of any proficiency test is to find out whether you have already got the knowledge and the skills that are taught in a particular language even though you have been taken langauge courses. If you do well on the proficiency test, the test-based credit that you will earn will count towards graduation, and it might fulfill a General Education requirement.
Unlike achievement tests or other kinds of tests, proficiency tests are not dependent on particular class content, course materials, or language software programs. Instead, a proficiency test is intended to measure your command of a language regardless of your background in that language.
